Drawing can be a means of taking visual note of phenomena around us: scientific, emotional, specific, mundane, or of arcane interest. It can be be especially effective as a means of recording information one wants to understand, or tease meaning from. An exploration of news stories outside mainstream broadcasting or press is a source of imagery and text in my work, along with the banalities of daily life. Systems for the divining of truth such as Japanese candlesticks and other diagrams used in financial trading are referenced in recent work.
